Elena Dorfman (b. 1965) is an LA-based visual artist, whose work seeks to provide glimpses into the lives of marginalized people and neglected landscapes. In this series, Fandomania, she explores the world and accompanying culture of Cosplay. This image, Anju, is the cover-photo of the book published on this series. Dorfman’s work has been exhibited throughout the U.S. and worldwide, and can be found in permanent collections such as the Denver Art Museum, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Cincinnati Art Museum, Bass Art Museum, and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Center for Genocide.
