Lydia Panas (b. 1958) is an American photographer whose work discusses society’s collective relationship to women. She focuses on our interior lives: what we are and what we want to become. The natural landscape acts as the setting for much of her work, or is brought into the studio space as an aide to portraiture. Lydia Panas has been widely exhibited in the U.S. and internationally, and her work is included in permanent collections such as the Brooklyn Museum, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, the Museum of Contemporary Photography, and many more.
