Martina Lopez (b. 1952) creates digital collages with 19th century portraits, landscapes, and found media. She began with autobiographical explorations of her family history, and then expanded beyond the personal to create images of a shared history. Lopez’s work has been included in multiple publications on the history of photography and exists in permanent collections at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Center for Creative Photography.
